European football is not that much of a lure when it’s the Diddy league and we have a load of qualifiers. 50, thousand every 2nd week is a lure but playing Hamilton or St Mirren on a freezing cold Wednesday night in front of a few thousand ain’t. As for Gerrard he is not the only manager who is a lure for players. Personally if a team came in from a top league in France, Spain premiership in England, Scotland would be the bottom of my thoughts unless salary was huge which I doubt it will be in this case. Premiership teams are interested they will have big money as well as the possible lure of European football depending on who it is. With games against Chelsea Arsenal Man City, Manchester Utd etc etc…Being realistic I don’t see him signing.

So how is it we manage to lure any players to rangers? Has Kent not turned down advances from Premier league teams? Have other players not turned down Premier league teams to sign for rangers? Amoruso to man utd. What about Bryan Laudrup to barcalona? Didn’t he stay so he could play wet weeknights at Falkirk lol

We were paying wages on a par with premiership in those days as for Kent he chose scotland to be with Gerrard and also because his employers did not want him going to rival club. The examples you give only prove how awful our league has become we will never see the likes of Laudrup again because we cannot afford to pay the wages don’t want to say it but we got in a mess because we tried to compete with bigger leagues. We also were playing champions league football not the Diddy league. Aribo if he gets a premiership offer will go I can assure you.

Who wouldn’t want to play for the Mighty Glasgow Rangers ? Look how Kent’s value has rocketed which in turn will make him look a more attractive prospect to clubs with a lot more money than any Scottish clubs imho

Most players in the top leagues in England France Spain Germany and Italy will not want to play for rangers because they will take a drop in wages that’s a fact. Rangers are running about picking up loan players and guys out of contract or guys from lower leagues. As for loan players soon as there value goes up they will be off as rangers cannot afford to keep them, Kent and Worrel will be classic examples. It’s galling that we are giving players like Kent a platform to play so their price goes up then we can’t afford to keep them, what use is that to us in the long term, once Kent moves for 15 million it’s Liverpool that get the cash not Gers, we don’t even get a payment for improving him, its the opposite. In fact we had to pay for his services. Gers need to buy players we can keep and get a settled side who want to play for gers not a bunch of mercenaries.
Being the manager of Rangers has to be one of the most difficult jobs in professional football a full house at Ibrox every other week and yet virtually no money to spend the sort of buget Stevie G has to work with probably compares with in English terms teams at the top of league 1 and the bottom half of the championship that’s the reality of where Rangers are we would all love Stevie G to go put and sign two or three proven players out of Europe’s top leagues but until Rangers get access to CL money we are whare we are .
