Former Rangers striker Billy Dodds has rubbished suggestions the current crop of Gers players are “mentally weak” and insists Steven Gerrard’s side wouldn’t have been able to “piledrive” Celtic in Sunday’s League Cup final defeat if they didn’t have the right mentality. The Light Blues dominated at Hampden despite falling to a 1-0 defeat and…

There’s been a lot said by Celtic players past and present ref this. For me, I believe they are trying hard to convince themselves that they have a physiological advantage because the won, that’s nonsense. Deep inside every one of their heads, they will know they got out of jail on Sunday, they will also be asking how they are going to stop that onslaught again.

Look at the facts

  1. Their keeper was magnificent
  2. We played them off the Parkin every area
  3. They had one shot on goal (it was offside, but the officials got it wrong)
  4. They know it was offside and on another day it would have been chopped off
  5. We got behind their fullbacks with ease and bombarded their defence.
  6. They were out on their feet at the end.

Clearly history will show that Celtic won, but it’s not Rangers mentality that is in question, the Celtic players will know that the tide has turned. If we scored one, we would have scored a hatful.
