Speaking on the BBC Sportsound podcast, former Rangers striker Steven Thompson has suggested the club now need to move for more ‘robust’ players, following the arrival of Ianis Hagi. After weeks of speculation, the Gers announced on Wednesday evening that an agreement was in place to sign the Romania international on a ‘permanent, long-term deal.’…
Excellent signing but i do agree with the big man…we need some tougher guys who will batter into tackles and let opposition SPL players know that Rangers are back and we won’t be pushed off the ball or be beaten.
Neither Ferguson or Dykes will play for Barcelona, but we need a team that can win hard and ugly in Scotland first, then some skills for Europe.
While refs allow a few “meaty challenge” assaults aka assault on Aribo, we need a few of Souness’ “Hammer throwers”
Ferguson and Dykes are not Terry Hurlock or Ian Ferguson, but they won’t be bullied. As long as refs are happy for teams to bully us without protection, we need physically robust players who can take it and give it back
