Rangers icon Ally McCoist has told how Scotland fans once left Ibrox assistant manager Gary McAllister “distraught” after being booed in an international game. The former Liverpool and Leeds star was long-time Scotland captain and was booed off during a 2-1 defeat to the Czech Republic in 1999, leading to him retiring from international football.…

It would be great if all Rangers fans got behind Scotland but there are many who don’t, which is fair enough if they have good reason. However, Rangers fans who do not want the best for our Scottish players careers should really get a grip. As for Gary Mac being “distraught” I think Ally might be pulling everybody’s leg. Gary Mac always seemed to me to be the type of guy who would not give a shit about what a crowd thought. I know Ally and we all know he loves a joke, but being serious he is one of the most compassionate, sincere, empathetic and honest guys around and probably felt sorry to see Gary Mac going through that situation. So knowing Ally well done for bringing this out in the open, it must be awful to hear your own supporters boo, it’s great that you brought it to the attention of Rangers fans especially now when Ryan Jack is going to become a Scotland great. He will get us through the Nations League qualifiers in March with the right support from Rangers fans. Ryan needs everybody’s support and if there are Gers supporters out there who would rather support England just don’t say anything. One other thing this booing that Ally mentions was towards Gary Mac but it is clear it will affect every other player on the pitch, no player wants to hear a fellow professional being kicked in the teeth by his own support its sick. As for Ryan the more he plays against top opposition the more experienced he becomes for Gers and that’s got to be good.
