If Andy Goram (best ever) or Stefan Klos or Chris Woods criticised Allan McGregor’s goalkeeping skills, I would listen. Allan knows how to protect himself and sometimes you have to lead with your feet as a goalkeeper to protect the ball not just yourself. What I will say is that Allan should keep his stretching leg lower to the ground but he always must protect himself first. WATP.
It is deeply worrying to hear that Ally Maxwell may be coaching young keepers at all .The guy was a hopeless keeper who cost us , OF games and Cup Finals because he couldnt catch a ball .His advice about how to come out for a through ball like this will probably get someone hurt .Greegs did it all right ,he slid out, scooped in the ball and tucked his head away so that he wasnt actually looking at Ferguson , who by the way showed no sign of pulling out. Greegs` boot was maybe a bit too high , but it was nothing to do with technique and was not deliberate.Crawl back under your rock Ally and say hello to Derek Ferguson when you are there.
