Alfredo Morelos’ record against Celtic doesn’t bear thinking about for Rangers fans. The truth is, however, that it doesn’t matter whatsoever. The Colombian fired another blank against Brendan Rodgers’ men on Saturday. But it meant little as Rangers won the match 1-0 at Ibrox. It’s no surprise that nobody is talking about the fact Morelos…
david walton your having a laugh , morelos is a striker who is paid well to score goals not just throw himself about , the fact that no one is talking about another blank against celtic is because of his three incidents that should have seen him walk ,thats the main talking point cos yet again he gets away with murder and the masonic order at the sfa/spl do nothing , and please dont give it "oh heres another paranoid celtic fan " do your job and report the truth
Morelos is paid to do his part in helping the team win.
Against Celtic, he has to make himself physical and get stuck into Celtic’s physical centre backs.
If he does that, whilst continuing to create chances for Rangers against Celtic, then what does it matter who scores them?
If Rangers had lost to Celtic, then Morelos’ no-goal record would’ve been brought up. But because Rangers won the game, it’s all irrelevant. Morelos put in a physical shift and had a terrific outing for Rangers last weekend.
Yes, he goes over the top in the challenge. Should he have been given a ban? Perhaps so, but those incidents aren’t the reason nobody is talking about the fact he didn’t score again. Rangers won the game, that’s why. If Rangers win and Morelos doesn’t score, but plays a huge part in the game, then it doesn’t matter.
Morelos has two games, and possibly a cup game to beat Kris Boyds tally of one goal against Celtic, he had about 26 games to try, though it’s unlikely that Morelos will be at The Rangers after this season.
